Winter is just around the corner, and ski resorts in the Tahoe and Nevada areas are gearing up for a season packed with snowy fun! If you’ve been dreaming of powdery slopes and brisk mountain air, your wait is almost over. Mt. Rose will kick off the excitement by opening its lifts on November 8, followed by Mammoth Mountain on November 14. And if you can’t contain your frosty enthusiasm, the big names like Boreal, Heavenly Resort, and Sugar Bowl are all tentatively set to open on November 21!
Thanks to modern snowmaking technology, resorts are ready to pump out the goods, even if Mother Nature is a bit stingy with the early snowfall this year. Of course, while the resorts are excited to welcome back skiers and snowboarders, we all know the weather can have a mind of its own. So, it’s probably a good idea to double-check with your favorite slopes before racing up the mountain, because nobody wants to be the only one at a closed ski resort!
As the excitement builds for the winter season, it’s a great time to dig out those well-loved ski pants or ski boots and assess how long it’s been since your last trip to the slopes. I mean, let’s be honest, they could probably qualify for a museum display at this point! What are your favorite winter activities? Would you rather hit the slopes or curl up in front of a roaring fire? Let’s hear your thoughts in the comments!
