The incident in question stemmed from a confrontation with his wife, Leida Rosenbrook, 37, whom he met on the TLC series in 2018. Leida had discovered Eric passed out in his car outside their apartment and, after getting him out of the vehicle, an argument broke out that woke their infant daughter. During the heated exchange, Eric admitted to slapping Leida during their fight—though he maintained he didn’t make contact with or injure their daughter.

What makes this resolution particularly significant is the weight of context surrounding it. Eric’s legal battle unfolded against an almost incomprehensible personal tragedy: just days after this July incident, Eric and Leida’s newborn daughter, Alisa Eleanor Rosenbrook, died after five days on life support. The couple announced her passing on Facebook on July 10, 2025, with Eric writing,“It destroys me and shatters my world to announce that over the weekend tragedy has struck.”

As part of his plea deal, Eric must adhere to specific conditions for the next 12 months: maintain sobriety, avoid bars except for employment, and commit no crimes. Any violation could result in a warrant for his arrest. The couple, who appeared on season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé, had initially pursued legal separation in 2025 but informed the court in August they would not be moving forward with that effort.
