In a twist worthy of reality TV itself, radio host Bobby Bones now wants his Dancing With the Stars Mirrorball trophy back—the very trophy he mailed to ABC in a fit of hurt feelings just months earlier.

Here’s the backstory: Bones won DWTS season 27 in 2018 alongside partner Sharna Burgess, but in November 2025, former host Tom Bergeron, 71, told Parade that he was shocked by the victory. Bones, 46, took it hard. He posted a TikTok video calling the comment hurtful and explaining that he’d never even wanted to be on the show in the first place—he was there to promote another network project, worked his tail off, and won fair and square. His response? Send the trophy back to ABC.

Fast forward to now, and Bones is singing a different tune. In a recent appearance on The Bobby Bones Show, he openly admitted he regrets the decision, especially since he and Bergeron have patched things up. The two connected in March when Bergeron appeared on Bones’podcast, and according to Bones, it went smoothly.“He came on, and the first thing that I said was,‘Hey, man, why do you hate me now?'”Bones recalled to Us Weekly. Bergeron apologized for how his initial comment was phrased, explaining he’d been asked about shocking eliminations and hadn’t meant to discount Bones’legitimate win. Bones then apologized for making Bergeron apologize. They talked it out, and, as Bones put it,“We cried. It was really great.”

The problem now? Nobody knows where the trophy actually is. Bones told Us that he’d sent it to“somewhere at ABC”but has no clue where it ended up. He’s even making a public plea:“If anybody’s watching this that has my Mirrorball trophy, please mail it back to me. I would love to have it back.”

It’s a reminder that sometimes our impulse decisions—especially when we’re hurt or, as Bones noted, recovering from surgery—don’t always age well. What started as a statement about respect became a regrettable loss of a tangible achievement. On the bright side, Bones has plenty else going on: his podcast Bobby Bones Presents: The BOBBYCAST is now streaming on Netflix, giving him the kind of platform where bigger guests come to him instead of the other way around. But that Mirrorball? That’s still out there somewhere, waiting for its rightful owner to find it.
