Street Outlaws Star Arrested for Planting GPS Tracker on Vehicle

David Comstock, better known as Daddy Dave to fans of the long-running racing show, was arrested Wednesday morning in Upstate New York after police say he planted a tracking device on someone’s vehicle. According to Bath Village Police Chief Donald Lewis, the incident unfolded late Tuesday night when the victim called authorities reporting tampering. That’s when the Ring camera footage became Daddy Dave’s worst enemy—it captured him allegedly planting the GPS tracker himself.

What makes this particularly interesting is how quickly it unraveled. Officers responded and reviewed the victim’s security footage, which clearly showed Daddy Dave committing the alleged crimes. Around the same time, Dave reached out to police and met with investigators. He fully cooperated, and detectives confirmed the GPS device was indeed attached to the vehicle when they examined it.

Daddy Dave was booked into Steuben County jail on two misdemeanors: stalking and criminal tampering. He was released at his arraignment, but not before the judge issued a restraining order keeping him away from the victim. Chief Lewis declined to reveal why Daddy Dave allegedly did what he did, so the motive remains a mystery—and that’s where this story gets uncomfortable.

Since“Street Outlaws”debuted in 2013, Daddy Dave has been a consistent top contender in the show’s street races, building a reputation as one of the more dominant drivers in the lineup.
