Sacramento’s swimming scene is about to get a major upgrade. In just a few weeks, the North Natomas Aquatic Complex will host some of the fastest swimmers in the country as Dart Swimming brings the 2026 TYR Pro Swim Series to town from May 20–23, 2026.
This isn’t your typical local swim meet. The event is bringing Olympic gold medalists Torri Huske and Ryan Murphy to compete, alongside Sacramento’s own Luca Urlando, the 2025 World Champion. For context, that’s the kind of talent you’d normally have to travel to a major metropolitan area or tune into national broadcasts to see in person. The fact that it’s happening right here in North Natomas is genuinely rare, and locals who care about competitive swimming should mark their calendars.
According to Jamie Kiarie, COO and lead age group coach at Dart Swimming, hosting this caliber of event reflects the organization’s reputation within USA Swimming and presents a chance to grow the sport locally.“It’s really cool for us to be able to bring some of the best swimmers to this area, but then also let our local swimmers get to compete against them,”Kiarie explained. The meet features signature race distances in breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly, and freestyle, with top-three finishers earning cash prizes. If you want the full experience, Kiarie recommends catching the finals, which run at 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Pro tip: you can also purchase meet-and-greet opportunities and get autographs from the athletes.
Can’t make it in person? The finals will be available on the USA Swimming Network, with broadcasts expected on Peacock. The partnership also reflects strong collaboration between the city and Dart Swimming. Sjon Swanson, recreation manager for the City of Sacramento’s Youth, Parks, and Community Enrichment, highlighted that Dart rents significant pool time at the complex year-round and has been a great partner to work with. Jackie Beecham, director of Youth, Parks,&Community Enrichment, added that facilities like the North Natomas Aquatic Complex—which opened in 2022 and includes a 50-yard Olympic-sized pool, a 25-yard warm-up pool, and a recreation pool—were designed specifically to serve the community and host major events that bring energy and pride to the city.
For young swimmers in the Sacramento area, this is an extraordinary opportunity. Dart Swimming serves more than 400 kids ages 6 and up across its Davis and Natomas locations, and most of them will never forget watching world-class athletes compete at their home pool.
