No Sourdough, No Invite: Maisie Peters Jokes About Missing Taylor's Wedding List

Maisie Peters, 25, opened for Taylor Swift during her August 19, 2024, Wembley Stadium concert and earned the kind of on-stage endorsement most artists dream about. Swift told the crowd,“You started off the evening with someone I’m such a fan of and I’m still gonna keep talking about her,”calling Peters“amazing”and raving about her songwriting. The two even bonded backstage when Peters gifted Swift some books and a tote bag picked up from Brick Lane market, along with an apparently unforgettable speech about her fandom of pop star Hilary Duff.

But when Peters appeared on the Zach Sang Show on Friday, May 22, she made it clear that none of this translated into an invite to Swift’s highly anticipated wedding to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.“I’ve not received a sourdough loaf or a wedding invite,”Peters said with good humor, poking fun at Swift’s well-documented passion for homemade bread.“I think that’s OK.”

She wasn’t done with the self-deprecating bit. Peters jokingly speculated that her passionate Hilary Duff monologue during their backstage meeting might be the culprit.“After hearing my spiel on Hillary Duff, I don’t think it’s coming,”she quipped, adding hopefully,“maybe one day I’ll get to try her sourdough. Life goal [and it’s good] to have dreams.”

Swift and Kelce got engaged in August 2025 after two years together, and reports suggest the wedding is set for summer 2026. But Swift has been tight-lipped about guest lists and details, telling Graham Norton Show viewers in October 2025 only that she’s excited about the planning phase. So Peters isn’t alone in the dark—it’s just that she’s handling it with style and humor. Sometimes the best comeback is laughing at yourself first.
