A retired Air Force engineer and youth soccer coach, Curt Taras, has taken a dive from coaching kids on the field to finding himself in federal custody over some alarming allegations. It seems that a September day at Folsom High School turned serious when Taras decided to make threats while armed with a knife. If that wasn’t enough to raise eyebrows, authorities later found a firearm and ammunition in his vehicle parked just a short walk away. Talk about keeping things sporty!
Just when you think the story can’t get any wilder, Taras was also arrested for violating a court order by striding onto Gallardo Elementary School grounds. It’s incredible how quickly someone can go from being a role model to a headline grabbing troublemaker. Scheduled for a court appearance this Thursday, the legal drama continues as prosecutors seek to deny him bond. I guess his coaching days have been replaced by some serious legal play.
