West's Worst Day: Leaked Nudes, Reunion Drama, and Family Tragedy

Sometimes timing in reality TV isn’t just bad—it’s catastrophic. West Wilson learned that the hard way when he discovered his phone had been hacked and intimate photos were circulating just moments before sitting down for the Season 10 Summer House reunion.

The 31-year-old received the news as he was checking his phone while taking his seat at the reunion taping.“I just got a text that someone hacked my phone and there’s nudes of me being sent around. That’s a good text to get right before this,”he told the group. His castmates had already heard the news—Carl Radke and Jesse Solomon revealed they’d both received the leaked images. What followed was the kind of uncomfortable ribbing reality TV is known for: Jesse asked if West was“hard”in the photos (Carl’s response:“Very soft”), and observations about the curve direction weren’t exactly keeping things dignified.

Andy Cohen, 57, reflected on the surreal moment during his SiriusXM appearance on May 27, describing it as“reunion first”material. But what made the situation even more brutal was the timing. West learned of the leak moments before the reunion even officially started, and then left the taping to discover far more devastating news: his cousin Dakota Sweeney had been arrested and charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the death of their grandmother Gayle R. Wilson. (Sweeney has pleaded not guilty.) Cohen acknowledged the almost impossible convergence of personal crises:“It would be a person’s worst day ever to have nudes leaked. To have them leaked on that day, and then he left and found out the news of his grandmother… I don’t think you could have a worse day.”

What’s striking is how West and his co-star Amanda Batula—whose romantic involvement was set to be a major flashpoint at the reunion given her estrangement from Kyle Cooke and her friendship with Ciara Miller, West’s ex—managed to stay composed. Cohen said he was“stunned about how calm”both of them were heading into what was already going to be a contentious taping. Meanwhile, Ciara came prepared.“I have never seen anyone more ready and sat for a reunion as Ciara was,”Cohen noted, praising her clarity, confidence, and refusal to hold back.

The leaked nudes became part of the official reunion narrative—parts two and three will apparently show how the conversation evolved beyond the initial shock. But for West, the broader lesson was brutal: sometimes your worst personal moments collide with your most public ones, and there’s nowhere to hide.
