When Love Island U.K. star Tommy Fury was noticeably absent from his 16-year-old niece Venezuela Fury’s wedding on May 16 on the Isle of Man, it raised eyebrows. But there’s a pretty straightforward reason: the boxer is deep in the trenches preparing for a major fight.

Tommy’s partner Molly-Mae Hague showed up in his place, pregnant with their second child and supporting their daughter Bambi, 3, who served as flower girl in Venezuela’s ceremony. Venezuela is the daughter of Tommy’s half-brother, boxing legend Tyson Fury, and his wife Paris Fury. But Tommy himself? Nowhere to be found in the family photos—and the likely culprit is his June 13 bout against Eddie Hall at Manchester’s AO Arena. With just over five weeks between the wedding and fight night, Tommy was reportedly locked in serious training mode. His Instagram post from May 9 told the story: speed bag work, push-ups, iron—the whole camp mentality.“Ready to GO. 5 weeks out,”he captioned it.

The timing gets even tighter when you consider that Molly-Mae’s projected due date is June 12—literally one day before Tommy steps into the ring. That’s the kind of scheduling conflict that would make any expectant father sweat, but Molly-Mae addressed it head-on in an April vlog. Rather than stew about the timing, she called it a positive.“Just having a date for something and having a focus and us having something to look forward to in the fight, it’s actually a really, really, really positive thing,”she said, adding that Tommy would be home to support her after the fight. She also made clear she wasn’t worried—they had a plan.

As for Venezuela’s big day, the wedding itself was picture-perfect. She walked down the aisle in a strapless lace mermaid gown designed by Ava Rose Hamilton, while little Bambi charmed in a blue princess dress. A six-tiered blue cake with blue-and-yellow roses rounded out the celebration. Venezuela had gotten engaged just eight months prior—Noah Price proposed at her 16th birthday party in September 2025—and Paris announced the engagement with a heartfelt post:“Both only young but when you know you know!”

So while Tommy’s absence might’ve seemed like a snub, the reality is more practical: elite boxing camps don’t pause for weddings, and sometimes supporting your family means being there in spirit while you chase your own goals in the ring.
