Thanksgiving Break-in: When a Family Getaway Turns into Thief-Tastrophe!

In a twist of holiday mischief, three suspects made a bold move on Thanksgiving Day, breaking into 48 vehicles parked at the Great Wolf Lodge in Manteca. Just before 7:30 a.m., the thieves climbed over the parking gate, smashed windows, and snagged valuables including electronics and—surprisingly—a firearm. Talk about a Thanksgiving feast of theft!

The trio arrived in a stolen vehicle from Roseville, cleverly parking it on a freeway off-ramp before sneaking into the parking lot through a fence adjacent to the Highway 120 bypass. Unfortunately for them, a vigilant California Highway Patrol officer spotted their getaway car, leading to a hasty retreat on foot when the suspects realized their ride was towed away.

Caught on surveillance cameras, the suspects now have their faces spread across the internet, which might lead to an early holiday surprise: arrest and charge. Despite the resort’s security measures, which include video surveillance and routine patrols, it serves as a reminder to always be cautious about leaving valuables in the open—even during the holidays. When it comes to the excitement of the season, keep your treasures close because you never know who’s watching!
