Four Days Before the Wedding: Model's Last-Minute Moving Chaos

Timing is everything, or so they say — and supermodel Paulina Porizkova just learned that lesson the hard way. Four days before her wedding to fiancé Jeff Greenstein in Italy, the 61-year-old discovered she and her partner are being evicted from their Manhattan apartment, a place she’s called home since 2021.

On her“Twenty Good Summers”podcast, Porizkova didn’t mince words about the situation. Her landlord decided not to renew the lease despite her being, by her own account, a stellar tenant for six years.“No matter how great a tenant I was for six years, he didn’t really want to give us an extension on the lease, even though I begged and pleaded,”she shared with her 62-year-old fiancé on the show they cohost together. The timing couldn’t be worse — moving trucks and wedding preparations rarely mix well.

What makes this story more than just a celebrity moving mishap is what it reveals about starting over later in life. Both Porizkova and Greenstein are“over 60”and, as she put it,“are starting over completely”together. This apartment wasn’t just a rental; it represented safety and personal growth.“It has kept me safe, and where I’ve sort of grown up to be a woman, I feel,”she explained. That emotional weight transforms a lease non-renewal from a landlord’s business decision into something deeper — a life transition happening at warp speed.

Of course, it’s worth noting that Porizkova and Greenstein aren’t exactly without options. They co-own a country house upstate and have Greenstein’s Los Angeles property (currently being sold) available. Still, the couple used the chaos as fuel for conversation, releasing an Instagram post that turned the inconvenience into podcast content about moving, blending lives, and the emotions that come with major transitions. Sometimes the best material comes from life’s worst timing.

The couple got engaged in July 2025 after two years of dating. Porizkova was previously married to late Cars frontman Ric Ocasek from 1989 to 2018, and they share sons Jonathan, 31, and Oliver, 27. This time around, she’s navigating a new chapter — wedding, moving day, and all the curveballs in between.
