When you can’t decide between a courthouse and a Caribbean celebration, why choose? Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson pulled off the wedding equivalent of a two-for-one special — quietly signing the paperwork in Palm Beach County on Thursday, then jetting off to the Bahamas for the full ceremonial treatment come Saturday.

The Bahamas ceremony was the real showstopper. About 40 guests gathered on a private island to watch the couple exchange vows, a guest list that reads like a Trump family reunion: Don Jr.’s five children, plus siblings Ivanka, Eric, and Tiffany Trump. It’s the kind of destination wedding most of us only see on Instagram, complete with the romantic backdrop and the intimate-but-still-exclusive vibe that screams“we planned this down to the last detail.”

The whole setup speaks to a pretty modern approach to marriage. There’s the legal stuff that needs to happen (Thursday’s paperwork), and then there’s the celebration — the moment you actually want people to remember. By splitting them, Don Jr. and Bettina got both: the administrative box checked, and the dream wedding everyone gets to witness.

One notable no-show was President Donald Trump, who had to bow out due to obligations in Washington, D.C. It’s a reminder that even family milestones have to compete with the demands of running a country. Still, the couple had plenty of Trump family firepower in the Bahamas. Eric told Page Six the newlyweds truly light up around each other and called their relationship amazing to witness — the kind of endorsement from family that actually carries weight.

The romance itself is relatively fresh. Don Jr. proposed to Anderson at Camp David in December while celebrating her birthday. They started dating in 2024, after Don Jr. ended his engagement to Kimberly Guilfoyle. Before that, he was married to Vanessa Trump from 2005 to 2018, with whom he shares those five kids now in attendance at the Bahamas celebration.

It’s a story about blended families, second chances, and the distinctly wealthy version of having it both ways — legal marriage on day one, fairy-tale ceremony on day three. Not exactly the blueprint most of us follow, but then again, not many of us have a private island on speed dial.
