Second time’s the charm for Blake Shelton. After missing Gwen Stefani’s debut performance with No Doubt at the Las Vegas Sphere earlier in May, the country star finally got his shot to be in the crowd—and he didn’t waste it.

On Saturday, Shelton made the trip to Sin City to watch his wife and her bandmates command one of the world’s most iconic stages. And he wasn’t a quiet observer either. He was all in—clapping, laughing, cheering as No Doubt dominated the performance. At one point during the show, Stefani actually called out his presence, acknowledging that he’d made the effort to be there. The crowd ate it up.

The backstory here is worth noting, because the timing gods clearly weren’t in Shelton’s favor the first time around. When Stefani’s Sphere residency kicked off earlier this month, Shelton had his own gig happening just down the block at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace. Same city, same night, impossible choice. He took it in stride—sort of. During his own performance that evening, he jokingly called his manager a“d***head”for booking them on the same night. Humor as coping mechanism.

This Saturday showing proves what anyone watching their relationship already knows: when schedules align, he shows up. The Sphere residency runs through June 13, so there’ll be more opportunities ahead. But there was something particularly sweet about him carving out the time to be courtside for a night that clearly mattered to Stefani. That’s the stuff that counts in a marriage—not grand gestures, just presence.

As for Stefani’s kids, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo? They couldn’t make the debut either, but for a much more practical reason: school comes first. Priorities in the right place all around.
